Our ID90/Warranty Alert advises you on parts replaced by techs which may qualify for warranty replacement/credit. It's an incredibly useful tool, but it has limitations. It does not allow you specify all the particular warranty conditions at the Make or Model level, for instance Canon may only consider warranty replacement on parts costing more than $300, whereas Kyocera may actually compensate you for the labor in addition to the parts cost. Samsung requires a special serial number be submitted on any warranty claim, and it's different from the serial number on your sales paperwork. This alert seeks to compensate for all of that and more. This alert will flag parts replaced by your techs which qualify for warranty return/credit. It will actually create the RTV inside e-automate and give you instructions on how to finish filling it out. It will even chase you if you fail to fill out that RTV and submit it in a timely fashion. Doing all this involves creating several new Custom Properties which must be managed depending on the manufacturer in question. Currently the alert specifically addresses Canon, Kyocera and Samsung.
